Jennifer Abubakar Abena, a 28 year old local woman has been recognized for her fastidious charity which has so far funded the installation of a fresh water pump to her village. Along with this, she has also funded the building of a new school, which will service around 60 local children from the surrounding villages. Abubakar Abena has become well known for her charity work, in the region and giving people a better quality of life.
Abubakar Abena’s village is in a decidedly corrupt region on this country and when we interviewed her, she said “I want to reduce the level of corruption that our local community as to undergo. The police take bribes, there are gangs and inter-community warfare, it is time we put an end to this. I set up the charity to help the local people to have access to clean drinking water and the little school at the edge of the village will give access for every child to have an education.”
Her intents for the future stretch far and wide. Abubakar Abenawants her work to reach every village and offer the same level of access to fresh water supplies and education. Her father, Magudo,is in charge of administration of the charity and, together, they have, to date, raised over $10,000 dollars.
Presently, so many villages in this area have terrible living conditions and the level of sickness and disease has become a serious issue. Hospitals are understaffed and medicine is at a premium. Abubakar Abena says that her charity work will help to fund every region with all the amenities they require for clean living.
